You didn't mention the electric rear window....
Dear Hoffner,
This IS the diy forum.
My interest in this is more for the fact that the fellow posted the files publicly so you can modify them and go get them cut yourself.
I rather hope...

OK, so maybe not "universal" but we're getting closer.
I'm not sure if this will help for this particular use, but a trick that I learned long ago is to use a tiny bit of grease (in the screw slot, or wherever) to get the item that you are trying to...
I'll bet you even have longer working time as the plates won't dry out so quickly.
I've seen these (or similar) in a surplus shop that sells industrial castoffs.
I believe it came from an oscilloscope camera.
Useful for portraits:

That's Hiroshi Sugimoto.
Ed Sawyer, do you have an extra Graflex "E" lensboard that you might sell me?
Alpenhause, do you have a use for a 3x4 Graflex with a broken shutter? You can "borrow" it for shipping costs and...
You might just look for the focal plane shutter assembly that Graflex made as an accessory to go on the back of their studio cameras. They are not as common as a Speed Graphic, but it has everything...
I hope this isn't intrusive, but it seems like the folks who watch this thread might like this:

Try making a cardboard stop with the hole way off center and see what it looks like.
If 1/4 inch off looks anything like OK, then your best shot at finding center will be fine.
Oren, would you be willing to part with one of those holders if it fits my Kodak 3a?
So the Kodak 3a and the Graflex 3a were both postcard size. Both took roll film, but the Kodak could take plate...
Or Eddie Gunks.
Measure the one that's in the mail to you now.
It fits a bit tight, but it will serve as a standard for your next one.
Thanks, Steven.
I figured the "f" numbers meant it wasn't early.
I guess I need to clean my Rapidograph.
I traded a guy for this, sight unseen. It arrived today.
I've included a picture of the scratch on the inside of the lens so you wouldn't all get envious.
Evidently it was attacked with an ice...
Let me be the first to offer to buy it from you at your cost.
(You are going to tell us what was in the box, aren't you?)
I might have what you want if Jon doesn't.

Very interesting though.
Jim, thanks to your son for finding this.
Dean,
It's hinted at above, but not made explicit, that there are two different kinds of backs for these cameras:
Spring back, which just takes regular film holders, and the Graflok back, which...
I found an older Linhof tripod with a panorama head.
The head will not quite lock down; it can always turn, although the small plastic headed bolt does adjust the resistance somewhat.
There is...
Steven, you're right of course, but...
I seem to recall that Surplus Shed offers to custom make lenses in small batches to the users' specifications, so:
What if we ask what it would cost to...
jnaniaan, yes, it was Bert Saunders.
I have not had any contact with or dealings with him.
Lee, you can buy my 3a and have one converted and one original.
45PSS is Charles Monday.
I recently emailed him regarding repairing my 3a and modifying it to take 120 film.
He said that 3a's aren't fun to work on and so priced repairs accordingly.
There...
Jonathan,
It's kind of a shame you posted a picture of that (beautiful!) lens.
You could have used that lens to win beer of of just about anybody:
"Heck, lenses don't mean nothin.' Why, I...
So you can focus while wearing gloves?
I think that the Grimes web site has some information on how to measure threads for flanges.

Tina Barney
Yes.
Now we think of brass (with wood) as the class act, but 100 years ago (and earlier) brass was the second choice.
The top of the line would likely be nickel plated: metallic nickel, not...
Lunch box special?
Mink collar?
Great work.
I read somewhere in old literature from Graflex (no, I don't remember where) that the preferred method for cleaning the front surface mirrors was plain water on a cotton ball (applied gently). I...
John, You're right on several counts.
I know what you mean about the internal burrs in telescoping tubing. I could be creating a lock that would be difficult to undo later.
I suspect that the pin...
Tracy,
I'm in Kingston, NY.
Again, because of the unusually good condition of this camera otherwise, I'm reluctant to take the rough and ready approach to fixing it.
Jim C.,
I'm sure that...
Tracy,
The pin is all the way toward the back of the camera, i.e. fully engaged.
You can actually see that in the pictures that I posted if you look closely.
The pin is doing it's job of...
OK, here it is with the cover off:

The camera back is on the left in the photo.
I can insert an xacto blade on the right side of the pin, which indicates that the pin doesn't go any...
I'm certain that you are right.
I wrote "paint" in order to avoid further muddying the waters before my original question was answered. It's definitely not paint.
Chemical patina, and it looks...
Thanks, that's the answer I need.
What threw me off is that there is no evidence of a former button wearing on the black painted brass plate on my camera.
Now all I gotta do is fix it.
Sorry if that seems abrupt, I wasn't sure I would get the picture right in the post.
Thank you all for your input.
In the top picture in the previous post you can see the pin going into the...
