Where and when in Yosemite please?

We are in the UK and starting planning a trip for next year hopefully.

    B&W Polarizer question

    I have a 105mm B&W Kaesemann Polarizer that I'm planning on selling.
I'm trying to verify that it's a linear and not a circular polarizer.
    How do I tell?
Do the circular ones have 'circular'...
  6. Re: 35mm, wide angle tilt lens, and bowing of foreground effect.

That's a decent point, though I'm not sure why that effect should happen, unless the sensor (film) plane isn't quite vertical. I was using a spirit level, but maybe a very slight backwards tilt in...
  7. 35mm, wide angle tilt lens, and bowing of foreground effect.

I know this isn't LF, but I'm looking to understand this effect, that I don't get when using a moderate wide angle lens on 4x5.
Maybe it's just more noticeable with the more elongated 35mm format....

    Jobo Film Tanks

Please can someone tell me, are the Jobo 2551 and 2563 tanks effectively the same?
I'm wanting a tank to load 2 x 2509N reels (each for 6 sheets of 4x5) and thought it was a 2551 tank I needed....

Re: What is an Alto-W 150mm F/5.6 lens?

    Thanks.
Are they good do you know?
Can anyone indicate what a reasonable price used would be?
I've done a Google search before posting the questions, but can't find any useful information.

    What is an Alto-W 150mm F/5.6 lens?

Never heard of one before, and curious, having seen one for sale.
    Thanks

    Re: Lowepro Pro Trekker 600AW

I know it isn't exactly lightweight, but it is a little lighter than most other Lowepro offerings.
I currently use an Osprey Atmos 35 with some custom padded bags I've had made. It works well and is...

    Lowepro Pro Trekker 600AW

Is anyone using one of these, and if so are they good?
The larger Lowepro Trekker series are usually quite heavy (empty), but this one seems to be nearer a reasonable weight at 8.4lbs.
    I'm just...

    That's interesting. Thanks.
  16. Re: Scheider Apo Symmar 150mm F/5.6 - no 1/3 F stop marks

I'm not sure how to do an attachment (can anyone tell me please?) but here is a link.
I would add that the question was asked out of curiosity. The shutter works fine....
  17. Re: Is there a way of estimating how bright a lens will look in the viewfinder?

    Well .... yes!!
But it doesn't seem to work that way in practice.
Is it just me, or is it generally the case that the wider the lens the harder (darker) it is to view on the screen/fresnel/ground...
  18. Scheider Apo Symmar 150mm F/5.6 - no 1/3 F stop marks

I have the above lens, and the Copal 0 shutter just has a whole F stop scale.
There isn't any click in the movement up and down the F stops, and the shutter blades open and close in a smooth motion....
  19. Is there a way of estimating how bright a lens will look in the viewfinder?

I'm thinking of buying a Nikon 90mm F/8, and have no way of trying this lens before I buy (and it will be imported, so postage is expensive).
When using a 110mm XL lens, I know I can view the edges...

Re: Linhof Technika Classic and 3000

  24. Re: Ebony 45S - what's the longest non telephoto lens that can be used?

Thanks George. That answers the question. I haven't got an Ebony but have got a Nikon M 300mm, hence the question.
  25. Ebony 45S - what's the longest non telephoto lens that can be used?

Can a 300mm lens non telephoto lens be used with an Ebony 45S (with 270mm bellows extension)?
I'm unclear whether the 270mm refers to just the bellows or the whole focusing length.
    If so can a...

    Re: Nikon M 200mm F/8 - How old?

    Nikon M 200mm F/8 - How old?

  31. Looking for a quarter turn lever handle similar to the Ebony swing movement handle

  32. Re: Filter setups for lenses with large center filters

  37. Re: Are there guidelines on how much memory a computer needs for large image files?

  38. Are there guidelines on how much memory a computer needs for large image files?

I've just been reading a post on here about scans, and looking at drum scan sizes, they are between 300mb and 800mb file size.
Out of interest, is there a recommended amount of memory needed, say...
