Re: Extension back for Toyo 45A?

I also have one. It adds an additional 4 inches. It seems to be aluminum, with rough casting painted black on the inside. The outside is smooth black paint.

There is a store price tag still on...

Re: New LF from Chorzów, Poland

Welcome, Grzegorz. That's a great print especially for one made with a carton camera and scavenged lens. It has that old-time look from 150+ years ago. I wish you well in your making a camera and...
  4. Re: Advice needed for printing blown highlights

I think the flowers are given too much emphasis (about 50% of the picture area). So I am not sure exactly what is the main subject. Perhaps, cropping out the lowest three flowers will restore...

Re: How Good are the Microtek Scanners?

I've had an M1 for two-three years and have had no troubles with it. It is very noisy, grunts and groans a lot but continues to work fine. My only complaint is that is is extremely SLOW! To scan a...

  9. Re: What did you do with your high end enlarging lenses?

Oh my, yes! Photographs are made in a wet darkroom. Pictures are made the other way.

    Re: Tri-X 320 question?

    I found that 200 gives me a good Zone I (0.10 above B+F) in XTOL 1+1.
  11. Re: I'm curious, how many of you run your own darkroom for printing and enlargement?

Basement darkroom here. Kind of cold in the winter but nice in the summer. Scan on a Microtek M1 for a quick peek but wet is the best.
  12. Re: Calumet C1 8x10 + 12" 6.3 commercial Ektar?

I learned on my Dad's '39 Chevy with a vacuum-assisted shifter. You couldn't budge that thing unless the engine was running. We actually broke off the plastic extension on the lever by trying so it...

First of all, the sun will not be completely covered so you will not be in darkness, needing a long exposure. The sun will only be covered 88% at maximum eclipse so a lot of light will still be...

Re: Bumping Classified Ads - A Tolerance Issue

A non-issue, methinks. If the FS/WTB item is something I'm not interested in, I pass right on by. Don't care how many times it gets bumped or pinched or whatever.

    Re: 4x5 Velvia 50-First Outing

Sometimes I shoot RVP at EI 40 to open the shadows a bit. Of course the white highlights could get blown out. The deep shadow on your second shot probably is too deep. But I still like your pics.

    Re: fb+fog 35mm, 120, 4x5

I get B+F density readings of about 0.2 -0.3 for both 35mm (fresh APX-100 in Rodinal 1+50) and 4x5 FP4 (long out of date in Xtol 1+1). This gives PEI 0f 80 and 100, respectively. Negatives of...
