They aren't making a youtube video, but a feature documentary. The level of involvement from multiple parties is far, far beyond what is required for youtube.
Depending upon your printer and your printer driver you can print at resolutions higher than 360 and there is a real detail increase. I print my images at 720 ppi.
I have a platinum/palladium on drafting vellum of migrant mother... but I printed it myself with a digital negative. Actually, I used to pick images from their high res archives to print for others...
show looks great, Kerik!!
probably the ColorMunki Display if you're not also profiling a printer

8x10 sinar p, but i don't have a field 8x10 or i'd be using that!!
I have a crapped out 5x7 Korona with a removable 5x7 back with springs and ground glass. One option would be to buy the 5x7 back and have someone mount this to a back for your Calumet, would probably...

Yep. That's why I don't care if other people think I have a lot of different cameras. I use them all differently to match what I am shooting as how I shoot and approach a subject affects the final...
Well, I just rezzed one of my 8"x10" scans down from it's 23,000 x 18,400 px size to match the 10,328 max px width of the IQ180 and my 8x10 shot look quite a bit different than theirs do -- also...
You have no idea how glad I am to be back - we'll chat online (I updated my email address here on the forum if you want to send me your contact info -- have a new gmail and facebook and whatnot).
I sent the position over to a couple of recent MFA grads I know who are looking for jobs and made work of architecture with large format cameras. Personally, I love where I am heading up the imaging...
hmmmmm... very interesting! though the 1 year term makes me leery. i like my non-term limited state job with (the absolutely necessary in my situation) medical insurance :-/
Hrm, I have a run of the earlier issues through 2002 - if Steve was on board with such a suggestion would anyone here be willing to donate any missing issues or later issues (up through the dates...
Majestic tripod w/ a small step-ladder works pretty well for doing the same thing.
It sounds like Shore and Strand -- by being very subtle about it are obsessed with sharpness -- the sharpness being exactly what they wanted.
If the sharpness of the reproduction does not match...
No, you didn't Bill.
You said:
You never said book - am I to assume you're talking about just the book and not Strand's images in general. Well, based off of the level of education...
The best way to test is to know how to use and operate a working large format camera. If you don't know the right way to do it how can you judge whether you screwed up the process or the camera is...
Are you trying to scan through Adobe Photoshop CS4 or CS5 in 64bit or CS5 in 32bit through the TWAIN driver and your scanner just isn't showing up as an option in the Import dialog?
It's because...
Are you making evaluative judgments about Strand and his photographic vision based on a book printing made how many years after his death?
Granted this just goes to show we need more accurate...
Isn't that every motor? :D
I have an early CPA I've used with Expert drums for 4 years now and it was used with Expert drums for 3 years before that (I believe)... at some point I fully expect it...
You could sell the bagmags you've collected and buy a handful of grafmatics and use the Super D with the benefits Robert describes above....
shoot, i have an RB with a bag mag and would love to switch to one with a back I can use my modern holders on instead if you want to trade!
god, bill, if there was ABSOLUTELY any way I'd be there, but... damn body. I'm hoping for next year!
There is a Yahoo Imacon scanner group. If you search back through the message archives there is information on where/what to buy and how to replace them yourself if you are so inclined.
Oh, I didn't think Ty said that based on everything I've read related to him and his cameras - sounds like PR speak :)
Very cool, I'm in if I can be. Maybe I can demo wet plate for you guys before we go out if I get around to mixing up chems.
I am curious about this, though:
I can think of 3 off of the top...
Get better models who understand what the process is - they need to be aware of their own bodies and movements.
The string trick is a good one, too. I don't like to use it during the process of...
It looks like you need to replace the tension belts - they are toothed to give incremental movement of the film in front of the sensor and these teeth are probably not the right size anymore -- they...
Looks like my roommate and I are in barring anything coming up.
"Large format cameras are only good for making big pictures. When digital gets good enough all film will go away. Painting is dead!"
What I wrote above sounds just as ignorant as your comment. The...
I'm hoping to make it out to this one -- and if I do I'll have new prints to share!
Who knows... the only thing we know is a range for how long they should last, but that's based off of being in archival sleeves in a dark, climate controlled place. Odds are longer than you. If...

Sinar GG's are the best, if you break them you just put them back together again!

That does sound like a fun one! It's really easy to make a wedge for a heavier lens.
I was thinking the Pentax 6x7 165mm f/2.8 looked like a really fun one, too.
Thanks, Kerik!
I didn't know about that - though I imagine it is a lot slower/more fussy beginning to end to:
compose, focus, remove adapter, load 120 magazine back onto camera, shoot - as opposed to how quickly...
