  1. Re: Disinfecting developed film from lab due to Coronavirus

    >1/3 alcohol (I had 91%) 2/3 aloe

You have the ratio wrong. You need to end up with at least 70% alcohol in the final mix.

  3. Re: Photos with Super-Angulon XL 58 vs. 72 mm Lenses?

I do not have any pictures handly, but I have used all of these. If you are using the movements on the 90XL, then 72XL is the logical much wider step. The 58 is more like the 47 - you are pretty...

You can also scan and do a digital "contact print", i.e., a digital print on archive paper the size of a contact print. I have only done 1 HABS job a few years back and...

The federal judge who had blocked oil drilling in the Chaco Canyon area just reversed himself. Depending on the market for oil, we could see exploration and drilling in the next few years. It will be...

Might be interesting to try a Foveon sensor camera, if you could borrow or rent one. Still additive RGB, but with actual layers for each color like slide film. It could have a more realistic gamut.

I think the key question in today's world is whether your interest is in the images or in the process. You can pretty much get to any image with digital that you can do with LF, and some that you...

Large format does not require that you also do wet printing. You can load holders with a changing tent process film with a daylight tank, and then scan it.

  33. Re: What will my Sinar F2 4x5 do that a Chamonix 4x5 or Ebony 4x5 won't

While it can cost as much as an f2, a Sinar pan-tilt head makes the Sinar really fast to use.
  34. Re: What will my Sinar F2 4x5 do that a Chamonix 4x5 or Ebony 4x5 won't

I retired my F2 for an Ebony to have an easier camera to carry. But the F2 did everything I need, and handles very wide lenses much better than my Ebony that is designed for them.
