LMAO!
Everything about Foto1: the website, the contest, communication and organization was first rate. 200+ people (unverified and Bob Alden was among them) can't all be wrong, right? I mean...

Tom,
Unlike another, you put on a fantastic show, with NO complaints from anyone. For those that want to read a review of this event:...
Luminous Landscapes and your local Camera Clubs?

Oh, Steve, Steve, Steve, what graves we dig ... So you don't remember glaring at me at Photo Plus Expo last year, when I was talking to Ted? You just stared at me without saying a peep about 2-3 feet...
I actually met him in person and decided never to give him a cent of my money, right then and there.
Regards, Art.
Seems like foto3 is turning out to be foto1. Calumet and APUG have withdrawn their sponsoship. Les McClean and Bill Schwab, so far, have cancelled their workshops.
I wonder why none of that...
It's a good thing you teach photography and not business. It's that kind of simplicity that's running the US right now.
Regards, Art.
I love threads like this. This is too funny. LMAO!

Nicole's images of families, particularly children, in environmental settings are emotive and touching. Plus, she's a hoot to be around.
Regards, Art.
Robert,
It's funny you mentioned this. I once suggested this to an airline ticket agent - her response "We can't do that because then everyone will do it"
Regards, Art.
Kevin,
With the 4490 there are two models - one is the PHOTO model and the other is the OFFICE model. Don't get the OFFICE model unless you plan to sheet feed your photos!
From my...
HDR = high dynamic rage.
This is an overly simplified explanation when you only have a single image ... try this when you get a chance:
Open the file in PS
Copy the file and call it...
The Epson Perfection 4490 Photo is actually the one you may want. Around $180 new.
Regards, Art.
Bob's work, as many of you know, is second to none. If you get a chance to see this stuff in person - the Lambda prints that is - you will be blown away.

Matus,
I would not do this. I would seek out a couple people you trust here and send them the link via an e-mail or PM. Posting a link in public, if that's what Don meant, will only allow an...
If you're directing this at me, then you're completely missing my point. Oh well.
Regards, Art.
Well, let's call it high dynamic range inkjet paper then.
So is the fake Rollex, I would argue.
Regards, Art.
No Don, I'm definitely not choosing to ignore it. Quite the opposite.
Regards, Art.
D'oh! LOL
The other thing I find pathetic are the wannabe traditionalists. I just find it silly how so many ex-traditional photographers go all digital and proceed to simulate the Polaroid...
Hmmm ... maybe it's just me, but I find it a bit flawed to generalize this paper as digital silver gelatin (actually it should be digital gelatin silver, but I'll leave that to grammar/spelling...
Fair enough, in my zeal, I lumped B&H with Adorama and that's not right on my part. I too have had no issues with B&H (no issues with Adorama either since I follow my own advice!). My bad. My...
Isn't this so true! It's like the new ex-smoker. Ever talk to one of those guys? Oiy!
Regards, Art.
Hmmm ... you live in California and bought an SD card in NYC? I assume you were visiting then? If so, that really sucks.
Regards, Art.
This is cliche answer, but it really depends on you. Some people pick up PS like nothing and in a month or two their good to go. Others may take a lot longer. Also, it depends how much time you have...
Of course! In fact it will exceed the large format film medium by leaps and bounds. It's just a matter of time.
Regards, Art.
I've said it before and I'll say it again about Adorama or many of the other NYC stores - B&H included. You have to go there in person, know exactly what you want ahead of time, don't ask a lot of...
I've seen the latest inkjet prints and they are outstanding. In fact, I have been printing inkjets for several years now.
This reminds me just how many people have a severe case of foot and mouth...
Oiy.
Regards, Art. (Some of you guys make me laugh silly)
These are nice very images. Too bad the prints are inkjets.
Regards, Art.
Ummm ... 944 Life Magazine? With these guys? LMAO! Definitely the demographic group.
Regards, Art.
As a post on APUG stated, wouldn't it be better for those organizing this thing to get it all together first before letting out drips and drabs of information scattered across multiple forums?
For...
Why? Seriously. Why should a film photographer be forced to go elsewhere? Is this akin to a new form of discrimination? Be proud of your artistic media choices and don't be scared away by goons.
...
Could be one of the following:
1. Many are 'new found' digivangelists. They weren't that good with film photography, frustrated and produced meh results. Digital has actually made them 'better'...
Nope. Go to http://www.APUG.org and http://www.ToyCamera.com You are not alone.
Regards, Art.
Ditto what Ted said. I actually tried it with one sheet - you know, 'cause it said not to do it. In this case, there's a good reason for the warning.
Regards, Art.
It's like any other tool. Once you 'know' the quirks of your DSLR, I find it to be accurate. I had to do a few tests in several lighting conditions, to find out the correlation between my DSLR...
Thanks Ted. Remember about the colour part though. If I join another 'hybrid' anything and all they talk about is digital negatives and inkjet printers, I might go postal!
Regards, Art. (Did I...
Adorama is one of tose places where you have to know exactly what you want and be firm with these guys. Don't fall for the hard sales pressure they apply. I would not buy anything over the net or the...
Thanks for the invitation for input, here's what I would like to see (and I do understand that there are limits and constraints and appreciate all the work and effort being put in even if none of my...
