I've been using Brad Hinkel and Ron Reeder's book "Digital Negatives" with good results. There is a web site with some information about the book: http://www.digital-negatives.com

I'm also keeping up, 24 for 24. Redrock, I view this as an artistic practice rather than a need to get a great shot each time out. If you have 12 interesting shots so far, that sounds might fine to...
great start, congratulations!
Lovely shots everyone. Here's my first image of the year, taken with an 8banners 4X5 pinhole camera on expired Fuji-100C45:
Thanks, Jim! I'm enjoying your work on the project, as well.
I've also begun, looking forward to being able to work on my compositional skills in a consistent way.
Posting the results here:

Here's a couple, both cross processed using Unicolor C-41 kit. First image is on Ektachrome 64T expired in 1991, and the second is Velvia 50 expired 1999.
I've developed 4X5 Efke IR film in the set up you describe without any problems. It is also thinner than regular b&w stock film.
I have both the glassless and glass 4X5 holders for the LPL enlarger, and I find myself using the glass holder more often than not. I also use the glass 4X5 holder for printing 6X6, 6X7, 6X9 and 6X12...
Eric,
I actually find it easier to load the 2509 reel without using the special loader. It takes a bit of practice doing it freehand, but becomes second nature after loading a few times. I tend to...

I second this sentiment. Most "nudes in the landscape" that I've seen have a feeling of the nude draped on the landscape like some kind of garnish. In Dave's images, there's a wonderful integration...

First of all, your assumption about the other thread is correct. I've seen the unadulterated version, but like I you truly enjoyed Walter's inventiveness.
Jeff Wall comes to mind - his...
Ansco 8X10 camera, dollar store magnifying glass lens, APHS Lith film, *Galli* developer.

Your prints are exquisite, Dave. A good gallery space for exhibiting them.
I'm surprised Henry's on Bank Street doesn't have what you need. Since Henry's has a huge on-line site with most things (including Xtol), they could probably get it into the store for you. I've...
Wow, these are wonderful prints. Here are a couple of selenium toned kallitypes, digital negative produced from 4X5 Foma100.
Karsh was an interesting and complex man who created a persona for his photography business. There is a very fascinating biography, called Portrait in light and shadow : the life of Yousuf Karsh by...
Brian - thank you for the kind words.
Here's another from the same day.

Here's one from July. Efke IR820, Hoya R72 filter.

I don't think you'll be able to load the smaller fp-100c in the PA45 holder, which is designed for the fuji 4X5 pack films. However, the fp-100c will fit into any polaroid camera or holder that takes...
Shortly after this thread started, I checked it out and ordered a CD. Looking forward to many hours of education and fun, once Canada Post gets off its fanny and actually delivers the thing.
I've been doing some testing with the Efke IR film, Hoya RM72 filter and Thornton 2 bath developer. The last time I was out, I set my meter for ISO 6 and took three exposures: meter reading, +1 stop,...

Rob,
I greatly admire your spirit, and willingness to put on a workshop even if only 1 person has signed up. I hope you get a few more registrants for your workshop in Duncan. If it had been even...
Steve,
First of all, I'm relieved to hear that newstand copies will still be available. I would not object to paying more for my newstand copy if that means I can still get it.
As far as...
I was talking about FP-3000B45, the 4X5 pack film. Used to be on the B&H site, no longer listed.
David,
I don't dispute your assessment of the cost of such a workshop, but based on my experience with artists and an art school in Victoria, $350-$375 total for a 5 day workshop is about the...
It may be listed on their web site, but try sourcing it in North America - I haven't been able to find any, except on evilBay. B&H used to list it on their site, special order 20 minimum at $27 each,...
No shopping malls as such, but a number of interesting little galleries, shops and bakeries in Tofino itself.

The film you are looking for is Polaroid 59 4X5 sheet film. I don't know who still stocks it, but you could also try eBay as a source.
Instax cameras and film have been available in Canada for a number of years, and are still currently available. Perhaps Fuji will decide to bring them to the US as well.
Congratulations - a lovely image.
Here's one from this weekend's outing, Shen Hao 4X5.
The images of Nicole are particularly engaging - obviously the two of you worked well together.
Jeff,
I just started in 4X5 the past couple of months, so I have also wrestled with these questions.
I bought a 50 sheet pack of the Arista Ultra 100 from Freestyle, reasoning that a less...
Albert - you're not alone. I'm a rookie as well, and will turn 54 this year.

Walter - thanks for setting the group up, I've joined. I like your suggestions for a low-key group. I once belonged to a (non-photographic) printmaking group in Victoria. Nice people, but I grew...
I would also be interested in getting together - although I must warn the rest of you that I'm quite new to LF. - Paul
Hi Albert! It seems to be a small world here in cyberspace, I'm also from Victoria. Looking forward to seeing how your camera turns out. I've only been doing large format for a short time, with a...
