I have purchased from them as well. I purchased a jewelry scale with a tare function and a weight for calibration. I believe the brand was MyWeigh as well.

Re: Wista 45VX/RF/SP bellows draw and idea

I should mention that with longer lenses I rarely use tilt, so the top hat board is not a problem for me. I guess it depends on what you photograph. I mostly photograph landscapes and use the longer...

Ah. Missed that. I went the other way. I use the top hat type boards, but I did catch that he did not want to do that.

Re: Wista 45VX/RF/SP bellows draw and idea

Even if you have a longer bellows you will be limited by the mechanical limits of the camera's ability to extend. I don't think you will get what you want with just a longer bellows.

  14. Re: Tools: Cheap and disposable vs. the best you can find/afford?

If I can afford it, I try to purchase what I really want instead of settling. That is not always possible. Patience helps. For example, after waiting for a LONG time, I picked up a used ARCA Swiss...

  18. Re: 135mm 4x5 Lens Recommendations - Moderate Budget

The best deal on a Rodenstock would probably be a 135mm Caltar II-N. It is identical to the multicoated 135mm Rodenstock Sironar-N. The next best deal would usually be the multicoated Sironar-N. If...

  22. Re: Coverage of a CM FUJINON W f/5.6 105mm lens?

My 180mm f/5.6 Fujinon W (single coated) covers Whole Plate just fine. That is the widest lens that I normally use with that format. My 120mm f/8 Fujinon SW also covers, but I don't normally shoot...

    Re: Technikardan 45 S

Years ago, I saw Jim Ormand from Western Bellows spray some 3m Super 77 into a jar until it puddled up. Then he painted it on the bellows and the patch before affixing the patch to the bellows.
  24. Re: Can you give me ideas on doing contact prints with limited space?

Bathrooms are fine. Block out the windows. You need a stable table or perhaps the countertop if you have enough room. A bulb in a socket or one of those reflectors with the pressure clamp you can get...

  27. Re: Favorite Inkjet paper that emulates ilford FB classic glossy

  28. Re: Does an affordable, available, non-plasmat 300mm-ish lens that covers 8x10 exist?

Another option would be a 300mm Fujinon L. It is a Tessar type, single coated, in a Copal No. 3.

  30. Re: Need 4x5 field camera buying advice- Wista?

Bob, that is true, but with my Wista I use smaller lenses like the 300mm Nikkor M, 180mm Fujinon A, etc. I have a set of extension tubes so I can use the 450mm Fujinon C. It works well and is...
  31. Re: Need 4x5 field camera buying advice- Wista?

  34. Re: Variotone Paper and what are you printing on today (May 2018)?

My favorite paper is Adox MCC 110. I liked the paper OK when it was made by Agfa, but did not care for the base. The whiter base of the Adox product makes a huge difference.

    I know I don't always...

Re: Good starter lens for whole plate

I agree, 210/215mm is wide, but a gentle wide. A 180mm f/5.6 Fujinon W is a nice shorter focal length lens on WP. I have a single coated 120mm Fujinon that also covers, but is way too short for my...

Re: Good starter lens for whole plate

I second the 250mm f/6.7 Fujinon. I like it on my WP camera. I really love looking through the whole plate GG through my 215mm Caltar f/4.8.
