I also noticed while double checking the TMY price at B&H that they list TMY in 8x10 as "discontinued", is that a recent development or something that happened a while back that I just never noticed...
For those that are interested, this is a screen capture of the ad that I keep seeing with the new $128.94 price tag.111982
In all fairness, if you are ordering film 20 boxes at a time, your financial considerations are probably quite a bit different from mine.
This is where I find myself too. I don't shoot that much either, so the extra money isn't the end of the world, but for me this is a hobby (albeit a very serious one) and I don't have an endless...
You are looking at TMX (Tmax 100). I'm talking about TMY (Tmax 400), currently showing $109.99 at both Freestyle and B&H.
That's up $15 from their price last week also.
Did I miss something? At the end of last week I could have purchased a 50 sheet box of Kodak T-Max 400 (4x5) for $85 from B&H. In the next day or so, I start seeing ads from B&H saying that $85 is...
I've had my Chamonix 045N-1 since 2008. It has way more movement than I've ever required in the field, it's lighter than most (if not all) of the cameras you listed, it is quite rigid even when fully...
I understand your point. I'm not looking for any definitive answer (as if there was one), I am just looking to come up with a short list of developers worth looking into that might also fit my...
I think I just ordered my last box of T-Max 400 today. I've been thinking about changing for a while, partly due to thoughts about continued availability but now mostly due to costs. As of this...
This was something I've been meaning to do for a while. I took advantage of the down time I had during the gummint shutdown to finally do it. I'll probably cut a different frame to hold the filters,...
Here's mine. Previously chronicled in this thread: http://www.largeformatphotography.info/forum/showthread.php?36017-New-darkroom
I haven't posted any to this thread, so here are a...
The culprit, as it turns out, is the Adox MCC110 paper that I was(!) using. It's a beautiful paper but I had no idea how much lower contrast the paper actually is. Recently, I had a few other papers...
Thanks for the link. What I'm really trying to do is find a target density to shoot for in my film development testing. Here's a scenario.... let's say I decide to target a Zone IX density to do my...
:confused:I was looking to revisit my film testing using a different approach than I had used previously and I wanted to use a step wedge (like the one below) to relate densities to actual print...
That's much better, Thanks!
So, let's see if I can get this right...... Here's one that I may have posted elsewhere some time back, but this is a test and the image fits the thread so here we...
Apparently I've forgotten the correct way to get the image to appear in the post (anybody?) This is exactly why I don't do digital ...... I absolutely HATE computers.
I haven't posted in a while. Here's something I found last week. Front door of an old general store.

Designing a small darkroom can have its challenges and compromises, but it can definitely be done. Mine is 7 1/2 x 7 1/2 and was finished a little over a year ago and I 've been very happy with it....
I had never had a go at flowers before, but last Sunday over first cup of coffee on the front porch I was looking at these blossoms on some Hosta and figured it might be a fun excercise, so I had a...
Here's one I did a week or so ago:

I'll add one more to this thread...

We got a lot more snow this year than we normally see around here (MD's eastern shore), so...
Jan, Rory and Nana,
Thank you very much for your kind words.
Sure. This one is from near Lake Crescent on the Olympic Peninsula.

Next time I get in to do some printing, I'll run an official test. At first glance, it seems like this assembly is a significant improvement. The Zone VI unit that this replaces had enough falloff...
I finally got Humpty-Dumpty back together again, so I thought I'd share some pics of what I ended up doing. First pic shows all that's left of the upper stage of the MXT after modifications. Second...
I've been looking into doing the very same thing with my 45MXT. The short answer is that there is no "simple" way. Even if you machine out your carrier opening and modify it to accept bigger glass...
For what it's worth, this is the response I got back from Aristo/Voltarc/LCD Lighting as of about 2 weeks ago:

I vote for TMY-2. I just recently got back into LF photography after 20+ years and when i did, I decided that I'd try using a "new" film (TMY-2 developed in Tmax RS). I've been very happy with the...
I finally have things far enough along so I can post something, so here goes a couple for starters... Both are from a trip to Washington state in August.
I apologize if this is the wrong section to post this question but I figured since the majority of images seem to be posted here, it might be the best place to ask.
I was wondering what method...
I am looking to develop my first batch of film and I'm looking for a good starting point for New TMY in Tmax-RS. A number of people have posted times for old TMY in Tmax-RS, but fewer have for the...
Thanks. It's actually West System epoxy, 3 coats. Since it's used mostly on boats it seemed like the right thing for the job, plus after searching around it seems a lot of other people have used it...
Well, it's finally finished (I know it's never REALLY finished), but at least I can move stuff in and start setting things up. It's almost embarrassing that it took this long to finish, but things...
I finally got a chance to get in to DC to see this show and it was well worth the trip.
There was a fair amount of Adams work that I had never seen before, more O'Keeffe than I've had the pleasure...
Here's a possibility:

Steve,
I am leaning towards the 206 Hardener mostly because I feel a little more comfortable having the extra working time, especially during the step where I will use a thickened mixture to get...
