    Calumet makes an LED based VC enlarger head for their Zone VI Type 2 enlarger. As it is a 5x7 head I have no doubt it can be adapted to just about any enlarger. Downside $1200 bucks.

    If it's just nylon wash it in a gallon of water with 1 oz. of bleach. That should kill the mildew. Rinse it good and it should be fine

    58 same problem. I use 3.0 reading glasses but I have a 3x pair of filp downs I got a Cabelas. They let me get with in 4 inches of the GG for fine focusing. Cost about 10 bucks.

    The big issue might be between fire proof and heat proof. Yes the negatives may not burn, But if the heat gets just a little to high they may melt or at the least the emulsion may be destroyed
