There is an instruction on ebonycamera.com 'Asymmetrical Movements'. But in short, I quote:
'When perspective control is important, then swings and tilts are best employed at the lens plane. The...
Long ago I was 19. Too old to remember how long...:)
Just loosen the ball and use a dry, clean towel to wipe off the dusts while turning the ball to all angles. Take your time, maybe 15 minutes or so. I did this with mine and it worked smoothly again....
Has anyone tried this? Easy and no soldering required.

1. Thanks Emmanuel for that great info.
2. Nana, those cameras are undoubtedly beautiful, well designed, and made. But for ones without mechanical and/or wood working skills - like me - it's...
Eric and dazedgonebye, I am using one of this (or similar to...
My 5x7 PS with Nikkor SW 90/f8. Back is from a Kodak or Burke and James 8x10 to 5x7 reducing back. GL is a Canham fresnel. My wood working skill is terrible but it works. :p
Very nice Bruce! I was in Anchorage back in 2001 (not shooting LF yet), what a beautiful country!
Thanks all for your suggestions. I will try a humidifier and anti-static stuffs.
Before scanning, I use a hand blower to clean the slide; wipe the scanner glass, Anti Newton glass with couple pieces of lens tissue, then tape the slide to the AN glass. I also use cotton gloves to...
Alan, try your question at the dpreview.com, printers and printing forum. Chances are more people having the same problem like yours. I am also using the 3800 but never had that problem. Good luck.

Thanks, Colin and Kev. Colin: will have more photos tomorrow to show you the back.

My home breed 4x10. Doesn't have a pro-look but it works and very light, less than 4 lbs.
I have been using Photoflex changing room for 4x5 and 5x7. Could not be used for 4x10 though.
I don't know if it is practical and/or cost effective to produce lens cones that can accept technika boards? This way, ones can use lenses interchangeably between many view cameras and point and...
I googled and found this link. Of the 2 definitions, one says yes and one says no. So yes and no! :)

Thanks, Dave. There might be another one finding its home soon.
Thanks Amund, but that dimension is wrong. The back can't be in portrait orientation if one side is only 24cm as mentioned in Don's and my previous posts.
Dave:
While we are at it, what is the actual size of the camera? Fogive my obsession about the weight and size, just to know how it would fit my backpack. Thanks.
Congratulations and thanks for sharing, Dave. It sure looks beautiful. I am really surprised at the weight. The camera actual weight is usually heavier than advertised.
Is the camera horizontal only? There is a discrepancy on Badger Graphic site. It says dimensions 39x24x12cm and Camera back in either vertical or horizontal orientation. It is not possible to put the...
Getting E6 chemistry is part of the problem. I live in Southern California and used to buy Kodak E6 5 liter kit locally. Not any more, I now have to mail order from Adorama. B&H has it but they do...
GPS, You are exactly right.
Eric, I find it best to adjust the loupe with a slide on a light box. By using progressive eye glasses, you can keep the glasses on while focusing with or without the loupe. Problem is some people...
I 'lock' my loupe using masking tape, about 1.5 full circle. I re-adjust and re-tape it maybe twice a year to match my eyesight. It does not look too bad if you do it carefuly.
I have been using a Linhof Viewfinder with a 6x12 home made mask as seen in the attached photo. The mask is a bottom part of a plastic bottle. The opening is carefully cut so that it shows about 90%...

I am playing with a Canham 5x7 camera and cannot find any mark for the 0 position of rise and fall on the front standard. How do other users set it? Do you have to mark it yourself? Thanks for the...
Thanks, Kerry. I will sure read the articles. As far as scanning and printing, I have been doing exactly what you have said for some cropped images on my 5x7 films. I have just read your article...
Thank you all, gentlemen, for your great help. I will take time to read the suggested readings before making decision, now including 8x10 with half-darkslide...
Also thanks to those who make this...
Hi all,
I am contemplating a panoramic camera, instead of going with 6x17, I am thinking about a Fotoman or a Shenhao 4x10. Since I am shooting 5x7, most of my lenses could be used, from wide to...
I do not have the camera but here is the link that might provide more info about it:

I have been using Kodak E6 5 litter kit with Jobo CPP2 and expert drum 3006 with very consistent results. I usually pick up the kit locally but my source stops carrying it now. B&H only ships Kodak 1...
This guy sells Arca compatible plates on Ebay. Check his 'seller's other items' for different length.

JT is not late yet. But if you have never been in DV I would suggest DV instead of JT.
Here is the link with a calculator to use on your Windows, Palm Pilot , or assemble one to take with you to the field.

There is a Nikon 4x5 scanner on Ebay with about 10 hrs left. I wonder if it is any better than Epson 4870. Please advice if you have experience with the scanner. Thanks. John

Sam,
The focusing hood for Shen Hao 4x5 would fit the Tachihara. I bought one from Badger Graphic couple years ago. Give them a call to find out if they are still carying it. Good luck.
I, too, have received one from Shen Hao yesterday. Although I have not had much time to play or taken a shot with it but over all it is a very beautiful camera, the best value for the money as Sandy...
