I have always found darr to be very generous and genuine with her help and advice on this forum. Your nit-picking of her posts sounded unnecessarily aggressive and unpleasant. You're kind of still...

Why do your posts sound increasingly aggressive? Why do you sound like a Lee salesman on commission? I like the Lee filter system too, but it's probably possible to get a little too religious about...
  4. Re: Ebony 45 RW Ti and longest lens option with top hat

    Hi John
    You work fast!
Yes, I got my tophat from Robert White a while ago and it was definitely a bit pricey. The advantage is that it is very nicely made and can be used in various...
  5. Re: Ebony 45 RW Ti and longest lens option with top hat

    Hi John
Perhaps not exactly what you asked for, but a possible compromise option which would give you a bit more length than a 180 and probably not as much weight/bulk as your existing 210, is a...
  6. Re: Ebony 45 RW Ti and longest lens option with top hat

IIRC the Ebony RW45 has over 300mm of bellows extension, in which case your 210mm lens should not need a top hat at all. Even less need for a top hat with a 180mm lens...

I'm looking for a source of replacement mainsprings for a couple of modern Copal 0 and Copal 1 shutters. Does anybody know if these can still be found anywhere? Many thanks for any leads!

Re: Film production and Darkroom equipment

Actually, B&H are selling new packs of 2 for $149 (ie $75 each), but I believe Kumar can supply them cheaper than that from Japan.

Re: Opinions of 4x5 Developing Reels

If you want to tray develop, and are happy to process only a small number of sheets (eg 4) at a time, I recommend buying/making a slosher tray. That is quite a nice way to keep the sheets separated...

  15. Re: What ever happened to rear swings AND tilts on field view cameras?

That's the nominal focal length. Once you tilt the film plane and focus the lens, you end up with a variable actual focal length corresponding to different points on the tilted film plane.
