Yes, but that used rather thin glass in contact frames transmits UV rather well, still
Well, about the topic: today things ahev changes a bit, as high powered 365nm UV LEDs have gotten much cheaper and using some in a suitable condensor head would bring down exposure times considerably...
I'm admin in a large photo forum, there I would be issuing a 1st warning, 2nd would be removal of the poster ;-)
I had been contacted about that a while ago, made some calculations and came out with several hours of needed exposure, so dropped that plan then.
Thanks for the confirmation!
I had been contacted a few years ago about such a solution for LF negatives using high powered 365nm UV LEDs in the enlarger head, but after some calculations decided to not go that way...
If you use my work from my site which clearly states "All text and images carry my copyright and I do not allow to link to or copy / download from my site or any parts thereof without my prior...
Yes, but not just quartz, it is made of quartz and fluoride lens elements and it is fully UV-VIS color corrected.
I have it also on my collection site macrolenses.de
I have used those types of...
Indeed Mark, many (older and esp. uncoated) lenses reach down to about 350-360nm if made of optical glass, surely enough for wet plate work. However, let me remind you that there is quite some focus...
It was the 2nd ever made one. Was beat to it, but I have the 12cm sister lens of that one: http://www.macrolenses.de/ml_detail_sl.php?ObjektiveNr=371

Never had problems when I shipped to my family in the US and to other locations.
When Paypal gets a "package received" note from the mail tracking system, all is fine.
why not ask me, I would be willing to relay!
I need shorter working distance, so I prefer WA lenses.
Thanks Dan, I knew you would know something useful! ;-)
A project for year 2017, so I have time....
Needed for some about 1:1 repro work. Thought about using Apo Germinar W lens(es).
Space is rather limited, so wide angle lenses preferred.
Any other recommendations?
Sorry. Wasn't an ad, not related in any form. Can I delete my entry?

Thanks Steven, that "Protar" patent was my first idea too, until I saw that VIII which threw me off.
Now that seems to be correct as also the serial number 32.xxx would match that production time...
Saw that on ebay: 251467585586 and wondered if that might be an early Planar?
The rear element has VIII engraving, which the Vademecum identifies as a Planar,
but the speed and focal length do not...
Here is a working link about it: http://www.tgdaily.com/hardware-features/67824-fipel-lights-could-replace-leds
Link doesn't work unfortunately...
To make things hopefully a bit more clear: infrared is not infrared i.e. there is near infrared (also written NIR) in the 750-120nm wavelength range (0.75 - 1.2mu) and there is far infraread which...
If it is corrected for infrared, most likely it will not be of much use for visible and the lens design won't serve that properly. Could you show a picture of what's written on teh barrel, maybe it...
It is actually quite simple: it is the value that someone else is willing to pay for at a certain time. Unfortunately there is no better answer that I would know of, as there is no absolute statement...
Well Dan, more or less exactly what I told him; but I wanted to crosscheck for sure.
Wishful thinking indeed IMHO.
Any ideas what to recommend - a friend of mine is looking for one. All I coudl recommend was way to expensive
or impossible to come by (Aerial lenses etc.). [any ideas Dan?]

I had to get it out... ;)
I personally think it is a stripped down version of the Apo Rodagon D 75mm in 1x version!

Thanks for the compliment. Wish you luck that it works for you! These Magnogon lenses I was told were used in IMACON scanners sold by Hasselblad. Image circle is 72mm. The only data I ever found is...
Schneider makes those.

None of those have that resolving power from what I know Asher, so it would be quite boring for such a film since you would actually test your lenses - not that film.
Btw. ZEISS when they...
I confess guilty... ;)
Well AGFA COPEX comes to mind with 600lpm resolution. But only the positive film is available in larger sizes (105x148mm maximum)...
