Just to add to this old thread, I have a ICA/Zeiss Universal Palmos 9x12 that has the same rear balancing extension feature
Hi all, has anyone seen or used the 5X7 back/bellows unit for the H-1? I see it listed but not shown on the Chamonix site. Thanks, Charley
I second the Prontor professional, It will cock&trip a Sinar shutter.
Thanks for the PDF file on Kodak Industrex products Randy, it's very helpful!! Charley
Not sure if yours is the same, but I have a pkg of Kodak Industrex xray film (MX125) I've yet to use. It is for industrial use and individual sheets comes in a paper sleeve.
Sadly, K&S closed last year....
I've sent a PM
I have the long exposure timer that Bob mentions as well as Prontor's self timer. It is definitely heavy duty with a long enough throw to cock and release an Ilex #5 (I have 3) or the largest...
Bruce, very sad news for all of us.
Your work is extensive and of uniformly high quality. Have you considered University of Arizona's Center for Creative Photography? Below is from their website,...
I have a near identical Wollensak lens (in storage) and it is most similar physically to my much more modern 305mm F4.8 Kodak Portrait Ektar lens (1960's which is in a Ilex #5 shutter), also a...
You might consider a locking cable release with shutter set on B. Charley
Many of the wayback captures are incomplete, the one I posted is complete with all catalogues listed. Charley

Hi Dan, I haven't a clue to how I managed that ... I tried emailing them to the address on their page, staff@cameraeccentric.com,
and got an unrouteable address bounce.
Using the Wayback machine I was able to open the info page for Sept. 2012:

The Sinar Copal shutter has a maximum speed of 1/60th, that's the limitation with that particular shutter or many other large leaf shutters..
I agree about the 375mm Ilex/Caltar, I have the late Ilex Version with it's unusual colored coatings. It appears to be a clone of the 360mm Ektar. The 3 element 508mm was an entry level 8X10 lens....
This is a vacuum easel for holding paper flat for enlarging or copying, not contact printing - that would be a vacuum frame.
OK, posted a bit prematurely, the vacuum is noisy, the holes are approximately 1/16" and spaced 3/8" apart horizontally, adjacent rows are offset and 5/16" above or below. Holes near the edge of the...
Hi Bill, I'm in Mountain View and was just in Pacifica day before yesterday... Interesting that there are two ByChromes so close. I've some photos:

Hi, I have a By Chrome vacuum easel that came from a commercial lab that closed in the 90's. It's max size is 20x24" and has an enclosed vacuum cleaner motor connected with a shop vac hose. I'll get...
Alviso!! Nice, if you keep walking down those tracks you'll come to Drawbridge, only ghost town in SF Bay Area - just need to watch for those sneaky AMTRACK trains. Charley
Yea!, Mine's also being shipped (backer #20). Charley
There are many stories of people (including politicians) thinking that New Mexico is not part of the US..... be happy New Mexico is no longer known as New Spain...
Nope, you're right, I misread print on the gauge, toldja about my eyes.. sigh
Thanks for the reminder Tracy, I dug around and found my old thread guage and determined (kinda hard with my old eyes) the thread to be 35 tpi. I don't have a metric guage but the 122mm filter is...
I have a 1951 Kodak 405mm lens that came with a #10 8X10 Century Studio Camera that was used for many years at a San Jose CA portrait studio. there also was a Cooke portrait lens which was more...
Hi, I've 50+ years of photography and one of my first tripods was the original Marchioni Brothers Tiltall, worked ok, but their was a pinch potential and the unanodized legs turned my hands black so...
OOPS! misread... wishful thinking, Thanks anyway!

OMG, sadly Andrew beat me in finding Angus's tomb, I was near there with three other Old Phart Geologists in September. From Angus's photograph I recognized the canyon cliffs W of Scheelite (CaWO4),...
I believe the camera is a Zeiss Juwel, he owned a 5X7. Hang in there Ken!
Hi, I sent a PM with some information on the Korona. Charley
Hi Ron, thanks to Henry's suggestion I just received my post caps order from King Metals and I'm happy with them. At 74 cents each plus $11.57 shipping (UPS 2 day, they didn't specify how it would be...
Thanks for the link Henry, I did find a close fit tho not pyramidal, sorta domed - product# 16-808 (King Metals http://www.kingmetals.com/). The 3" is slightly large (my posts are ~2 7/8") but thin...
Thanks for starting this post, I'm missing both stand caps (previous owner, a portrait studio photographer had misplaced them, but did find a 405mm Portrait Ektar which he included). I've refurbished...
The Nikon microscope cameras used a 4x5 Graflex Graflock back, so it's good for that.
As a research geologist I was very interested in this technique in the 1980's when several articles were published and I even considered constructing one. There was a commercial instrument available...
