I'm not sure about the lamp, though. Some table radios ran on batteries but I doubt toasters ever did as the current drain would be enormous in use. And if there's electrical wiring for the toaster, there would be for an electric lamp. Just a personal idea, but I think I'd try it with a similar vintage electric table lamp.
Of course there's no rule that says these things have to be the same vintage. I think that's just something that occurred to me in viewing this one, as it inspired an interest in doing some things like this myself.
Thanks! It wasn't readily apparent, but the table was made in the 1920's, the camera in the 1930's, the toaster in the 1940's, and the Radio was from the 1950's. Each piece was from a different decade. The Lamps was supposed to be pre 1920, even though it was newer, because I don't have an actual lamp from 1910 to 1920.

Ah, I see, even cooler. How about titling it "Decades" or something similar?

I've just always loved that Onion cover. It lampoons a fair amount of what I've done over the years.

Hi Gary,
Those of us who viewed all of those items as "modern" during our early years would likely miss the subtlety.
I would have put the radio much earlier than the 1950s. Do you have a model number?
Nice shot.

On my iMac, your image fills my screen nicely (okay, it is only a 17" screen and the actual image size is only 6.5"x8.5").
I click on the thumbnail and then enlarge it to fill the screen.

Dakota: the image is stored offsite at a place like flickr or smugmug. Not only can you present the images larger here, the viewer doesn't have to click on the image and then return afterwards, which can be annoying. Sounds like a great workshop, by the way.

Imminently restorable. I've seen far worse fully restored. Only requirement. A vault fully of money. Seriously, this can be done with what is shown in this image.

Not sure why the sign on the left side of the image looks so blurry. It is sharp when viewed in PS at 100% and in the print made from the same scan. I think it may be a moire/screen thing because of the chain link fence. Other theories happily entertained. This was not my first LF image, but maybe the third or fourth. Made last December.
