Thx Asher, I had no idea there was that much detail in a baseball.. I guess given the season now it should be pigskin :D
after doing a color correct it looked like a B&W with color added so I liked it and left it as is
Here is a shot of some Alders in our campground at Cannon Beach. It is interesting that carbon printing was all about sharp images, or so I thought. Image tone is something else! Used the big Darlot on the 8x10.

I hate that quoting doesn't give us your picture again!
The Darlot does its softening work on the tree bark. This presentation is unique for trees. Are parts of the tree trunks on the right and left somewhat sharper? That's really shallow DOF!

Asher, you are seeing the central area of sharpness that this lens has. The trees were leaning forward a bit so it adds to the "confusion".
