Thanks to Lou Brock we had this figured out in St. Louis a long time ago.

I would carry a Cloak of Invisibility, if they actually existed. I hate calling attention to myself with my tripod and "old fashioned" camera.

Light & fast hikers have known about and used umbrellas for years for both sun and rain protection to avoid excessive clothing condensation while traveling. I always have a small briefcase style in one of the pockets of my camera pack. Among other items, I always carry a buff for its myriad of uses. I actually have them squirreled away in all my gear. I doubt seriously that the GC Rangers, or any NPS ranger for that matter, didn't have/wear their hat. It is the most recognizable piece of official garb for that branch of public servant, and they are IME justifiably proud to wear it while on duty.

Seems rather restrictive. What's wrong with the occasional blond or redhead?

I never leave home without my bazooka

Ham sandwich. Or lox for those porcine restricted.

I could have used that yellow crowd control caution tape recently. Set up the 8x10 and before long there was a throng of tourists. Sure as heck someone turned up in one of the negatives after processing. Not only that but some kid (likely the same person in the negative) ran right through my stuff laid out on the ground. He jumped over the filters and film holders and blew by the tripod with the camera on it.

Reviving an old thread...
Here's something I could have used today - disposable nitrile gloves, the same as I use when tray developing my film. I had to step very carefully over and around the poison ivy while using several pieces of string (see the very first post in this thread) to tie back a bunch of brush. If I'd had nitrile gloves I could have just pulled out most of the poison ivy and saved myself a lot of stress. I just added half a dozen gloves to each camera pack. And I put them into a zip-lock, you can never have too many of those!
