Re: Shanghai B & W film - Annual LF and ULF sheet film Campaign 2017
Because this thread had been moved from other place and forum moderater suggested me to explain something here, I won't type more words and copied the message to the moderater here to explain:
Thank you, dear Oren,
I am just a user.
For my 8x20 and 12x20in films source, I had to contact the factory. After a long run negotiation, they accepted the campaign, otherwise they didn't care the production, especially the special sizes. So, this time, I have to be an organizer.
At least, there is one more option for LF and ULF users. They might not choose shanghai film. However, this brand would give Kodak, Ilford, Rollei, Adox, etc., a little pressure about their quality and price.
That's all.
Thank you again.

Thank you Pierre.

Thanks for initiative, Pierre.
It may be a small thing production-wise for the firm, but it will give them at a lot of "visability" and shows their genuine interest in the needs of the end users.

Yes, dear Steven.
I used to optimistically think that it's possible about their 35mm and 120 roll films production before.
However, it seems very difficult after a long term discussion.
The factory needs more encouragement.
Me, too.

Sad - they should put on their thinking hats for the future...
Re: Shanghai B & W film - Annual LF and ULF sheet film Campaign 2017
Pierre, I think what you are doing is great. I think Shanghai is a great film (it was developed in a cooperative effort with Kodak), and I'm really pleased you are making it available. I think that now that they have their new factory, they are right-sized for the market, and in a good position to be sustainable as film use grows again over the next decade or so. I would like to order two boxes of the 5x7, if it is still possible, and will send you a PM. I am also moving more towards 8x10, and look forward to shooting Shanghai in that format as well.

It's a great deal for Americans, but bloody expensive for Canadians, once you've factored in shipping cost (expensive!) and converted to our money. I went through a box of 4x5 and quite liked it. Still have a box of 8x10 to work with.

The factory regularly cuts 4x5 and 8x10. So, they are in stock.
