Re: Velvia storage question
Carl, as long as the packets haven't been opened, they are ok to put in the freezer and are water tight, however for the heck of it, I would still put it in a zip lock freezer bag.
Personally I do a 3 bag system because I'm paranoid but it's way overkill.
Just remember when you are ready to use it, take it out of the freezer and leave it in the fridge for 2 days then out of the fridge and leave for another day. This allows for the emulsion to expand more evenly with the base material and not risk any damage to the emulsion from extreme differences in temperature over the whole sheet when thawing out.
Re: Velvia storage question
Thanks, that is what I thought. How many packets are in a box of 20? Two?

I only shoot 8x10 Velvia50 and 8x10 Acros100 that I import from Japan, and those come in 2 packets of 10 each, I THINK the 4x5 is similar.
Re: Velvia storage question
I just leave in the box. No special process. Just remove from freezer load in holder and back in freezer. I wish I had time for a special procedure. I've been doing this for years without any noticeable, effect
