California Landscape
Hi! This is my first post on this forum. I like photographing people and places. Recently got my first LF camera. The attached shot is from Rosamond, California, that I took last week. Shot with a Deardorff 8x10, 240mm Rodenstock, f/16 @ 1/125 sec., Fujichrome 100.

Re: California Landscape
8x10 is heavy, cumbersome, and slow. There are way too many steps, procedures, and processes that are involved (compared to small formats or digital). It requires a lot of patience and thinking to compose, measure lighting, and to shoot. Loading takes time, so does processing and scanning. And the weight of the tripod is just outrageous. What can I say. I just LOVE it. Thank you for welcoming me into the addiction.

Re: California Landscape
If that doesn't say, "California" to someone from the Midwest, I don't know what does! Great start to my day, thanks!

Welcome, Bella!
Ain't 8x10 grand?!
Just for fun, here is another classic California image (only I am not sure that it is CA -- it might be just over the border in Arizona...on Business Hwy 8-- it was a while back). It is also just a tiny 6cmx6cm neg. Scanned form a RA4 print I made.
