Re: Building a ULF adapter back for a smaller format camera: pros and cons?
Thanks, Dan. After making some sketches, and having a short talk with my son, and having you confirm what he and I thought, this idea will not work. To go from the 7.25 inch opening at the back of the camera to the 14 inch long line of the 11x14 inch frame would require an adapter too long to be sensible. I had some thoughts when making my early sketches that were not correct, and needed you and my son to help out.
Oh, well! Thanks to all for the help.

Well, rear tilts/swings are out as the rear focus plane will not move on axis...
You will probably end up calling it "Shakey Jake" or something, and will have trouble locking down, hard to balance/focus, and more wear to the moving parts/locks on the camera... Doubt you would use it for long...
Better off just finding an old wreck of a camera, and breathing life back into it...

Right, or making my own if an old wreck doesn't show up. This thread shows me how it can be done. I think I could do all the wooden bits, and know someone who would make the metal parts for me for -- I hope -- not too high a cost.
In either case, I'll want to get a film holder. I'm a low-budget scrounger, so the search begins.
