8x10 negative needed
Hello everybody. My 7 year old daughter is doing a report on Ansel Adams. She would like to include an example, on her poster, of the formats he used. It was actually pretty funny trying to explain to her what a negative is. I went to Ebay and could only find "Adams" type images in the 100 plus range. She doesn't need anything "great" since this will be passed around to her classmates, but it would be nice to have something in nature, due to the theme. Even a mistake in developing would be interesting. Could anyone help her out here? I have 4x5 and medium format covered since this is what my wife and I used to shoot.
The reason I posted here is that I can only post in the "Wanted" section 30 days after registration. Her report is due at the end of February so you can see it would be cutting it close. I hope nobody minds.

Re: 8x10 negative needed
Do you have a 4x5 enlarger? You could take one of your 4x5 negatives and enlarge it onto an 8x10 sheet of film. Alternatively, you could build a rudimentary pinhole camera, poke a tiny hole in it, and affix an 8x10 sheet of film on the inside of the camera. A light tight card board box would do.
I'd offer to send one of mine, but I can't part with my work, sorry.

Re: 8x10 negative needed
If you can't find one (though someone probably will cough up a crummy shot or something) you could always print a scan of one of your 4x5 negatives on 8x10 transparency material; would get the idea across even if it woudn't be exactly authentic.
I have a couple that I could get rid of but unfortunately they're stored elsewhere right now.

I've got bunches of them. I'll even include a print of the negative if needed/wanted.

Re: 8x10 negative needed
I would like to thank all of you who responded to our request. She's in the process of getting a "Thank You" card sent to your addresses. Being 7 years old, it has taken a little long. When all is said and done, I'll post a few pics of what she made.
Last night I dug out our 4x5 and the Hasselblad. Neither has been used for quite awhile. We had 30, expired 2002, Polaroids and proceeded to use a bunch in the living room. My son, 6, wanted to burn through the whole lot. We were all having a great time. Digital is great, but there's still something about holding the results in your hand that the kids just loved. I may have to buy some more, they want to do it again tonight after school. Now, my wife and I are talking about buying a few things to process the B&W film we shot last night.
Again, thanks to all of you!!! This project has turned out to be loads of fun!

Again, thanks to all of you. Here's what the finished product looked like in school. The shot is a little rough. It's the only one without a kid walking in front of the camera. She hasn't received a grade yet, but her teacher liked what she did.
