Newbie Drum Scanning Question
This is a daft question, but when wet scanning after mounting etc do you simply pour the Kami fluid onto the negative? I have not used a drum scanner before but have looked at the videos posted here and I think that is what to do, but I just wondered does the fluid dry or evaporate? Thanks.
Re: Newbie Drum Scanning Question
You usually mount the film under a sheet of mylar taped to the drum on all edges. So the fluid and film is trapped between the drum and the mylar sheet. Once the film is unmounted the Kami evaporates quickly.
Re: Newbie Drum Scanning Question
the fluid drys and evaporates when if you don't seal the edges/use mylar. Afterwords you may need to clean the film with film cleaner, I usually do.

The fluid is very volatile. When I take film off the drum it dries right off. I usually wave the film in the air a couple of times and its gone...

Re: Newbie Drum Scanning Question
Excellent, thanks all. I will give it a go on Thursday when I am off work with one of my failed negatives first.
