Thanks Tom! Sammy and Billy came by one night this summer and I asked if they would mind me photographing them with the "big camera". They were bored and said sure. They were amazed how large an 8x10 camera and lens are and were shocked to see the image formed upside down on the ground glass. Sammy handed me her iphone in camera mode and told me that it is much easier and faster to this thing, pointing at the 8x10 camera, and I could send the photos immediately to my friends... I just nodded my head like she had shown me the rocket age while I stood in the stone age.

Not every petzval shot need be swirly with knife edge depth of focus. Dallmeyer 5D on the Deardorff 11X14. Yes, Richard, the one I got from you :D

I'm a fan of petzvals, and not the swirlies, so this is exactly the kind of stuff I like!

Re: please post your petzval shots
Time to revive the Petzval thread . .
Hope you'll visit a page of these done this afternoon with a No-Name 11 inch f4 Petzval
The new software tags the attached thumbnail without being asked. Can't do anything about it I guess.
Re: please post your petzval shots
Jim's not the only one with old cars lying around, if you count a car from 1972 as old, that is.

Also posted in the March 2012 portraits, but heck, it's done with a petzval so here it is again.
Darlot portrait lens ~f4, wide open (no means for stops unless I put in a washer stop).
