You can shoot any shutter speed you want, so you can plan the background exposure separately from the flash.

If you figure out a trigger your RT let me know. I've got the Youngnuo version and haven't been able to get it to work using a hotshoe to PC adapter.
a little off topic, but maybe relevant to balance your 3200K hot lights with strobes.
Get some Full Orange CTO gels like this:

cut out a piece to fit on top of the flash and you are ready to go.
Full CTO will lower the color temp of your flash to match hot lights.
You will loose about 2/3 of a stop, no biggie
Remember this: you control the amount of light hitting the film, and the percentage of hot light to flash, by
1- shutter speed for hot lights
2- f stop for flash
