Lubricating a shutter release cable
I have an older shutter release cable that is getting a bit sticky. I did a search here but didn't find any mention of an appropriate lubricant for such a situation. Anyone have an idea? I think that a paraffin lubricant (one that dries) like used on bicycle cables would be good.
Re: Lubricating a shutter release cable
I had a long 24" cable release that, like yours, was becoming less responsive. I shot a light spritz of spray silicon (using the nifty red tube that comes with these spray lubricants) into both ends, and with a little action on the plunger it now works like new. The silicon won't attract dust or become gummy.
give it a try,
