Testing out the "swirliness" of a 6.5" f/2.8 B&L Cinephor projection lens. Shot on 4x5 Tri-X that expired in 1994. Souped in HC-110 dil. H.
I love these little projection Petzvals (B&L, Kollmorgen, etc.) They're sleeper Petzvals because they aren't shiny brass and weren't made in the 19th century. This one cost me $15; I recently picked up a 9" version for $11.

This turned out a little too busy. It looked better on the ground glass. I think I need more distance or separation between foreground and background with this lens.

So far all of my B&L projection Cinephors/Petzvals are friction mounted on cardboard and secured with gaffer's tape. These are supposed to be "temporary" test mounts but they work, so.....

Three more from my 7.25" Kollmorgen projection lens. 4x5 TMAX-400 and Speed Graphic. The last photo is the exterior of a farm produce stand covered in wooden lath, and the tractor was about fifty feet away from the produce stand.

I really like the look of these, Leigh. Quite gentle. Classic Petzval in a way, but still new and fresh. The combination of the center focus and the dappled light on the John Deere is particularly nice.
