Re: post alternative techniques
I really like it Bob...but I can't tell what it is...but I really like it anyway.
Re: post alternative techniques
Bob, this is cool. I think it might be stronger (easier to read) with the gum borders masked and leave just the Pd border visible. The image color is pretty subtle, and for me, the border color makes the image color almost disappear.

Hi Denny
You are absolutely right IMO I have donated this image for a local show and I did indeed get rid of those borders... I like to hear comments about them so I included this time normally I do not.

the same hunk of aluminum shot on one sheet of film with a refurbed Passport camera, only the camera position was changed to create a different view.

Last night's wet plate image (on aluminum) using fresh silver bath and Old Workhorse collodion (2 months old).
Lens was the 15" Lerebours et Secretan f5 lens, wide open. Exposure was 120 seconds. I think it would have been better if I'd shortened the exposure a bit.

less light might have been a risk that bone (fox or dog?) looks dirty
Re: post alternative techniques
Carbon transfer print of some crystals I made on glass. 8x10 fp4. The relief is special on this one and I was able to hold delicate highlights that I often am frustrated with doing carbon printing.

Erik, how nice is this! Way to go. I know how hard this is to do and the image posted here does not do justice to the original. Beautiful.
Re: post alternative techniques
Thanks Jim,
My only complaint about carbon printing is losing my highlights when they are just on the verge of blowing out...

That presents a wonderful challenge.
