I'm invited to a conference in Ponchatoula this Spring.
I probably won't be able to make it, but if on the off chance I can, are there any recommended locations in the area for photography?

No love here for Ponchatoula, I gather?
John, I'm in New Orleans and I've done a small bit of photography in and around Ponchatoula. Quaint little town with lots of antique stores, a traditional feed store, a beat up old gas station, and a train station. Nearby is Hammond, LA and an interesting folk artist Dr. Charles Smith (https://www.roadsideamerica.com/story/38831) and Abita Springs, home of the the UCM Museum (http://www.louisianatravel.com/la-mu...use-ucm-museum). Get to Middendorf's for a meal if you can http://middendorfsrestaurant.com/. Let me know if you want to photograph anything specific and I can most likely point you in the right direction.
Thanks!
The info makes Ponchatoula more interesting than it was a few days ago!
