Creativity panel discussion at the Fanfaire '07
Photographer John Wimberley will host a panel discussion by five prominent
photographic artists: Jerry Wolfe, Stu Levy, Martha Casanave, Lorraine
Richey and David Lorenz Winston. The panel will examine in detail the role
of creativity in modern photography, how to facilitate and maximize
creativity and how to deal with creative blocks. This is a rare opportunity
to hear experienced, established photographic artists share their personal
perspectives on this supremely important subject.
John Wimberley has been called "One of America's finest living landscape
photographers." He has spent more than 40 years experiencing and studying
creativity in the context of photography. His work is represented in more
than 500 public and private collections worldwide.
Re: Creativity panel discussion at the Fanfaire '07
Hi Robert,
I am intrigued by this discussion panel but have no idea what Fanfaire is or when and where it will be held. By the way is the attached thumbnail one of your images? I think it's rather amazing.
Thanks,
Joe
Re: Creativity panel discussion at the Fanfaire '07
Joe - re-read post #2 for the when and where. The photo in post #4 is by John Wimberley.
Re: Creativity panel discussion at the Fanfaire '07
Thanks Kirk.
I was out and couldn't answer but the dates again is
November 2-4th 2007. The location is the University of Portland, Buckley center and it's only $40 for the weekend. The funds goes towards PPF's Cameras for Students program. It's our way to support photographic arts for the future.
As to John's image. Boy, I wish I did the photograph!
Re: Creativity panel discussion at the Fanfaire '07
not sure why I missed the beginning of this thread or the photo credit! - thanks
May I recommend video taping this and offering a DVD for those of us who may not be able to make it? This may already be in the works or not feasibly possible.
Re: Creativity panel discussion at the Fanfaire '07
I believe that John Wimberley will be taping the Creativity panel discussion then transcribe it for either a magazine article or something for his website, www.johnwimberleyphotography.com.
I know that PPF has several video photographers in its membership and I'll check if recording is possible as well.
Thanks for the idea!
