Re: Large Format Landscapes
a quick read of his posts and it seems to me he is self-promoting his own scanning business.
we all have witnessed much elegant ways to do this.

Maybe you ought to read through this thread from the beginning, critiques are welcome if they have been asked for and generally those with frequent negative comments take themselves elsewhere! Or, maybe since you're the expert here, you can offer how they can scan prints just as good as your work. (we haven't seen your work, just someone elses).

Here is my first 4x5 image that I thought worth scanning after about 30 shots total ever in 4x5. Still learning. Patricks Point, Northern California. Chamonix 045n2, Rodenstock 135mm Sironar N, Fuji Velvia 100, 16 second exposure. I was hoping for some better cloud action and some kind of a sunset, but took what I could get. JimAttachment 68905
Re: Large Format Landscapes
I'm not sure how to get the photo up on the thread. I guess you will have to hit Patricks Point.jpg.

I am a bit bothered by the tree trunk in the right side frame. IF you crop it out the frame is all light.
What do you think?

Tried it, the centered branches are detrimental to the image; when you maintain that in the crop you wind up loosing too much of the image. The bottom of the trunk to the left also gets uncomfortably close to the edge.
