Show your Digital and Traditional "Contact" Photo thread
The Majority agrees the digitally processed contact print is no different than a regular contact print and/or can be made to look the same.
Lets see photos of the group's digitally processed contact prints AND traditionally processed contact prints.
And please, no "you cannot tell based on a webshot" when I have prints in my hand that look nearly identical to what I have had posted on the web.
Looking forward to seeing the photos so bring them on instead of beating down a dead horse about papers, resolution, etc. etc...

Wouldn't it just be easier to post digital images directly? According to what you just said yourself, there's almost no difference between a print and the screen image anyway, so why not eliminate the middleman... :D
Re: Show your Digital and Traditional "Contact" Photo thread
I've got thousands of digital images, but don't post them here.
Are you simply referring to negative scans?
Re: Show your Digital and Traditional "Contact" Photo thread
Example:
Choose the size of film that was used, be it 4X5-20X24.
Take a 4X5 negative as an example and:
Post your photo of the 4X5 Contact printed the traditional way
Vs.
The same image scanned and then printed onto whatever paper at the same 4X5 contact size.
Post photos of your traditional contact print vs. your scanned and then printed to a contact size print.
Re: Show your Digital and Traditional "Contact" Photo thread
just to prove that it's impossible to tell apart a DSLR picture and a contact print on the web, i'll start with something random. is this a scanned contact print or is this of from my Nikon DSLR?

what could it be?

Yes. Use your DSLR cameras or a decent enough flatbed to show the actual prints (not negatives).
Goal is to see what an image done traditionally looks as of year 2008 vs. one that has been scanned and printed at the same size as it was traditionally printed.

Looks like a shot by a digital camera...but it could easily be a scan...it doesn't look like a contact print though.

These above look obvious like a contact print. One is a Polaroid, the other contact.
This one below looks obviously like a scanned shot...

The two above (contact/polaroid) have a quality of dimensionality that the scanned film does not. I see this in "all" photos that have been scanned vs. contact printed. I'm wanting to see one that has been scanned and looks like the above contact/polaroid shots...

Hello, I've been reading this site for few years and same question comes pretty often, but no formal comparison. Here's link with samples:
