Ebay 132334508928. 709 usd.
Hi Steven,
I have one of those 150mm Hermagis Eidoscope casket setx and I mounted mine in a Compur shutter that came with a Carl Zeiss 150mm f4.5 Tessar lens. Perfect fit. Using this to shoot on MF digital. I'm more comfortable with the 6x9cm spec ... 9x12cm is a vignetting stretch ...

There was another P&S lens but mistakenly labeled Wollensak because of the #3 Studio Shutter .. the P&S lens is actually a Series II, #2 ...
Wollensak P&S Visual Quality No. 3 Studio Lens Lot 182 (132334663334) ... also US $2,300 +20, 25, 29% fees depending on bidding and payment as you noted. For completeness and to remove confusion around the poor title, this is a Pinkham&Smith, Visual Quality, Series IV, No 2 lens with extremely clean glass.
The brass Visual Quality (with iris, no shutter), Series IV f4.5, No 3 had dirty glass FWIW.

Re: Some Soft Focus Lens Sales Information
The Flint's auction today was mostly about complete wood and brass 1/4 to 1/1 plate cameras with lenses. There was a single soft focus lens on one of the more non orignal full plate cameras.
Lot 373 Dallmeyer 3D £380 plus 20% fee.

I believe this closed at $2400 Best Offer unless you paid $3k for it. Ebay is has become almost good at hiding the Best Offer pricing, there's still one bug imho that reveals the actual transaction amount.

I was not the winner. I am not surprised that ebay has done what it can to hide the true sell value. Thanks for the update.

Re: Some Soft Focus Lens Sales Information
Some more "front turn" Dallmeyers.
3D aluminium with black finish (somewhat "finished"!). Ebay 30253554708. Warning about seized soft control. 400 usd.
1A plain aluminium. Attractive. The flange thread (flange missing) is halfway up the barrel, so goodness knows how the "turn the barrel"system works. Edinburgh auction to- day. 763 usd (including fees).
2A brass "turn the barrel". The lot following on from the 1A. Attractive. Described as a ZA patent! 1044 usd.
The auctioneers in Edinburgh were obvious way out of their comfort zone. I am sure they have overloaded by people asking for better desciption of the lenses and explaining how to check the iris (another problem area with these!) and whether the barrel turns as it should. They had a nice selection of tropical cameras in the auction, but only a single photo of each lot (All cameras were closed!) nothing about condition.
Re: Some Soft Focus Lens Sales Information
The Monar is a pure Petzval design, not a soft focus design as we understand it. Yes, it has been called a soft focus design on this thread and we're guilty of propagating the myth ;-)
Cheers,
