8 seconds Craig!? Steady model? Daguerrotype 'clamps'?
Here is a shot on Fuji FP-3000B on my Ebony 45S. Nice to actually see something out of my new camera :)
Well scratched (and previously with fungus) Linhof Zeiss Planar 135/3.5 wide open. Orange filter.

Very steady sitter and a headbrace....
Re: August 2011 Portraits
Fantastic image, expertly executed Craig :)

Craig - I really like your dancer. I'm surprised no one else has commented on it.
You must have been very confident of your young model's ability to stand still to try to record this pose on a wet plate. When my off-spring were dancing I had a hard time getting an image at 1/60th of a second!
Re: August 2011 Portraits
Shot four sheets of the kids together today. This one's the best of the bunch. Damned light leaks...

Being the child of a photographer must be a challenging thing. Often experiments are trialled on those family members conveniently home at the time. She's VERY used to holding still for 3 seconds or more. It's only recently that she has allowed me to resume shooting plates of her and that's only because she wants to change her profile pic on face book

Are you holding the rear of the camera against the film holder, with your thumb, when you withdraw the film slide ? This prevents the film holder from pulling away from the camera.
Re: August 2011 Portraits
Ken, that's most likely what happened. When shooting one or the other of my kids, I'm (apparently) more methodical and deliberate. When the two are together, it's bedlam. I'm done trying to shoot the pair in large format. Created a ton of consternation yesterday. Much easier with a 6x6.
Re: August 2011 Portraits
OK, so this is the first image I've shared on this forum, so be gentle...
My friend Tim. Unfortunately, I put the funnel lid on incorrectly when using the Taco Method with my Paterson tank, hence the bad light leaks. Camera: Toyo D45M; Lens: Schneider Symmar-S 210mm f/5.6; Film: Kodak T-Max 400; Exposure: 1/60s @ f/16; Developed in replenished Kodak Xtol. Scanned on Epson V700 w/ Vuescan.
