Re: Where to donate?
Bad news indeed,
One possible consideration for a donation would be Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, TN. Currently they are working with Shelby Lee Adams to create a special archive of his works that explore rural Appalachian family life. The program focus is on both analog and digital photography offering a BS and MS degrees.
Jackie Heigle teaches at the school and is the curator of the Baldwin Gallery.

Re: Where to donate?
This is a sad day, I am truly sorry about your prognosis. I have always respected your work and you have been an inspiration and muse, not only to me, but to all of us.
You are and have been a gift to all of us.

Re: Where to donate?
Jennifer Stoots does portfolio appraisals and may be of assistance in connecting to interested parties: stoots@stootsllc.com

I imagine you would search for somethign closer to home but the Portland Art Museum has a solid Photography collection and might be interested: Julia Dolan, Ph.D., is the Museum’s Minor White Curator of Photography. I guess contact Curatorial: curatorial@pam.org | 503-276-4232
Or try to make contact via the Portland Photography Council: George Olson – golson@aol.com
Thank you for all you have contributed and all you may yet accomplish,
