automatic subscriptions to threads?

It seems that if you reply to a thread you get automatically subscribed to that thread. Is there a way to stop that? I really never read or open those threads and it is just filling up my mailbox. But I do not want to make a email rule to delete them all because maybe one day I'll want to subscribe to a thread.

I looked in the settings but could not find any control for it. Only a way to manage existing subscriptions.

Take a look at your settings (Forum > Forum Actions > General Settings). Do you have "Default Thread Subscription Mode" set to "Do not subscribe"?

No, I didn't. That must be the one to change! Changed it, I'll see what happens. Thanks for pointing this out.
