SP-2810- 8x10 Film Processing System
Re: SP-2810- 8x10 Film Processing System
I'm in.
Still wish the SP457 had made it...but this is a decent alternative--especially if it it opens up the possibility of 8x10 in the future.
Re: SP-2810- 8x10 Film Processing System
Does two liters to develop two 8x10s sound right?
Re: SP-2810- 8x10 Film Processing System
Does a goal of $47,700 sound right also?

For complex die-sinking & injection moulding? Yes. That goal is not going to be giving them massive profits.
It's a 1.36 tonne mould we're talking about here.
Re: SP-2810- 8x10 Film Processing System
Fair enough, but I wouldn't have thought demand would justify the investment in such tooling.
Compare it to the Catlabs kickstarter for the CL81 where the goal was for $5,500

No. Jobo Expert Drums (with or without a processor) provide the most even results possible and require much less developer/fixer.
Re: SP-2810- 8x10 Film Processing System
Well, I develop 6 sheets in 1 gal tanks just fine. Still, the systems sounds pretty neat! L

No, 240ml/ 8fl oz(us) is the minimum stock solution of D-76/ID-11/Perceptol etc recommended to develop 80 sq in of film - and most liquid developers need far less.
Re: SP-2810- 8x10 Film Processing System
The suggested two liters to develop two sheets of 8x10 is most likely just the amount of solution necessary in that size tank to cover the film adequately.
