Chris, a lovely result - especially for your first portrait.
I have a friend who agreed to pose for me over the next few weeks to try my hand at portraits with LF. I hope my results will be worthy a post here.

This is me trying to disprove my theory that all wet-plate ambrotype/tintypes need some area of sharpness to look acceptable. I do think that SF portraits translate well from wet-plate clear glass negatives onto salt or albumen prints.
I LOVE Julia Margaret Camerons work and thought it was about time I took out the 375mm Eidoscope for this one on glass rather than film. If only I could capture the 'soul' of the sitter like she did...one day maybe...
No face on this portrait, but this is how it 'spoke' to me...I hope that's ok...
