Re: Making Odd Sized Batteries
Should you go (nevertheless) with soldering tabs, you must use resistance welding.

Yes I know that causes a reaction between the two metals and a buildup of corrosion that will eventually break contact. It's never been a problem in practice. Yes a length of brass would be better, but I had an aluminum dowel the right size sitting beside my desk.
this is on the money!
keep it simple. LR44s and other "button cells" are cheap by the dozen on amazon. just stack m up.

?? Just what I wrote
"Spot welding (also known as resistance spot welding) is a resistance welding process. " from:

Re: Making Odd Sized Batteries
Just stack them, no need for 'welding'
I buy these already made, no wires, no welding
Buy them by the 100 pack
Re: Making Odd Sized Batteries
and if you really want to, the small rechargeable spotwelders on amazon for ~$50 work far better than they should.

I want to thank everybody who has contributed. This is a relevant topic as we old Guys rediscover what is in our equipment lockers.
