This sentence in the Ilford announcement seems a little odd - "If you know of any please ask them to get in touch through news@harmantechnology.com." This seems to say that "they" rather than you must let them know. I know of one darkroom in this area operated by a camera club that's "public" if you pay about $30 in annual dues. I could tell Ilford about that but I have no idea who "they" would be in that organization.

I'm sure that's to guarantee the integrity of the database.
Otherwise any jerk with a computer could provide misleading or intentionally false information.

I assume from the response I got that the actual darkroom operators will self submit on the Ilford site when it is ready.
Seems logical to me.

Its already been done. There is a thread on apug listing public darkrooms, though it is probably out of date.
