Re: December 2010 Portraits
My first attempt at a large format portrait. The model and photographer is me :) Being limited to being in one place at a time (and not having a self-timer) meant this took a while, next time I'll stay behind the camera I think.

I'm not sure how this lens performs yet, looks a bit odd right now, with the weird distortion on the left hand side. I'm not talking about the screwed-up development (I tried something new for the first and last time - hehe), but the rather severe radial distortion, which showed up more on a different image. I've opened it up and tried to align the lenses as good as I can, and I'll try again over the weekend. I'll find out the size and shape of the IC and so on. This is fun, but I don't quite know yet whether I bought a dud...
This was shot, developed and scanned under the influence of Ardbeg as well, so there is that... :D

I must say I find this photo appealling both from a visual perspective, but because I love Ardbeg :)
Re: December 2010 Portraits
Really excellent Mark. Since I'll never get to have a 3.5 Cooke, I'm glad to see any old Petzval can suffice :D:D
Re: December 2010 Portraits
Thank you, Jim! Looking at the prints, I might still give the edge to the Cooke, but it's closer than I thought it would be! Of course, I always thought the Vitax was one of the nicer Petzvals... :)
Re: December 2010 Portraits
Dear Mark,
I like the softness within each image... :)
Nicely done.
