Silvestri Loupe 8x vs. Schneider 4x Magnifier Loupe vs. Chamonix Jobo Artisan 5x Lupe
Recently I was presented with a lovely Schneider 4x Magnifier Loupe.
And compared to the Silvestri Loupe 8x, which I have been using for a long time with the Silvestri 12x Critical Focus Loupe.
As in the attached photos, the Silvestri loupe shows a much larger magnified image, and I'm used to these loupes, so I won't switch to Schneider. :)
Anyway, Schneider loupe still shows bright and clear images.

Re: Silvestri Loupe 8x vs. Schneider 4x Magnifier Loupe vs. Chamonix Jobo Artisan 5x
Recently I purchased a Chamonix Jobo Artisan 5x Lupe.
I thought this luxurious loupe would be my final loupe.
I compared this loupe to my trusty Silvestri Loupe 8x.
As in the attached photos, there is a big difference. I could use a Schneider 4x loupe instead of a Silvestri 8x loupe, but I can't change it to a Chamonix 5x loupe.
Also, it was difficult to distinguish the magnification between the Chamonix 5x loupe and the Schneider 4x loupe, and the Schneider loupe looked brighter and cleaner, perhaps because of its larger lens.
In addition, Chamonix loupes come with diopter spacer(black plastic). But it didn't work for my eyesight, and I had to hold the loupe back 5mm in the air.
Anyway, if you use a camera with foldable hood, you will love this loupe.

Don't overlook the Horizon loupes (x10), in relation to their price these are surprisingly good!
It is a pity they aren't made anymore.
Re: Silvestri Loupe 8x vs. Schneider 4x Magnifier Loupe vs. Chamonix Jobo Artisan 5x
I've been using a Silvestri 6X tilting loupe for close to ten years, I'm guessing. No problems thus far.

Rodenstock 4x, Silvestri 6x and Zeiss 8x. My most used one is the Silvestri (without the tilting attachment).
It's matter of GG grain size, I guess.

As you know, You can focus with the long loupe with the hood open.
