Hi I visited a museum in the middle of nowhere about 5 years ago. This was the mountain provinces in the Philippines. They had photos taken from the early 1900's displayed against a window. These look like slide film to me but they were definitely bigger than 8x10 and I just want to know how these were produced. The photos were b&w and sepia against a light behind a window. any info is greatly appreciated. I know some were taken by Eduardo Masferré but I cant seem to find much else on the web. Thanks

So does the light transmission cause any fading?

Yes.

Yes, duratrans faded pretty quickly. It often was used in backlit advertising displays in airports and other large public venues. The fluorescent tubes in the displays faded the pictures noticeably in a matter of months.
