Hi

Is there anybody that can help me ?

My omega chromega d-5xl doesn't ligth up, so i went to buy a new bulb, Ushio ELC 24v250W. I put it on but it doesn't work. Is there something wrong with the bulb or what's the problem with my enlarger.

Any advice would be of great help. thank you

Maybe.

1) Is it plugged in? Don't laugh check it.

2) If it's plugged into a timer is the timer plugged in? Does it have a on/off switch? Does it have a fuse?

3) Check the outlet the enlarger is plugged into with something you know works [radio or small light]

If everything has been working okay, and it just stopped turning on, the only way to find out is to check the lamp socket with a volt meter.

The lamp I think it works because I just gotted new this morning, But it doesn't work? Besides the lamp is there anithing else that can be wrong with my enlarger? Since one of the ligths do light.

I agree with Bill that you need to get a cheap voltmeter from Radio Shack and check the bulb socket contacts for power.

My Chromega was manufactured in 1980. They are not new.

Power comes through a Chromegatrol, combination timer, power supply, voltage regulator. The circuit powering the pilot lights is different from the one which powers the bulb.

Over the years, the circuit board components in the Chromegatrol units have become frail and subject to constant failure. I have had the factory repair mine several times.

You may very well have a component failure in your power supply.

Check the bulb socket with a voltmeter.

How long have you owned it? When you bought it did it work? If it was used and has never worked, it may have a bad power supply. Check all of the connections and make sure they are plugged in properly. Do you have the owner's manual?

I bought this enlarger used like a month ago but everithing was working great but now the ligth form the lens doesn't ligth on. I do not have the owners manual. How come I contact the factory to repair mine probably like you have told me it is something wrong with the power supply. Thanks for the advice I'm gonna go to radio Shack to buy the voltmeter and check it.

Maribel... You can probably find the manual for your enlarger for free at this website... I hope it helps you
