Did not know if this or the lens forum is appropriate..

Can someone tell me if these three lenses will fit a Horseman FA, will I be able to close it up

210mm f6.8 Caltar II-E
150mm 4.5 Caltar II-E
90mm Sinar 5.6

(I have a lead on a spectaular deal if they do )

Thanks

I think they would all fit. Most of the ones that don't fit have Copal #3 shutters or are "Super Wide" designs with large rear elements.

Is there a Caltar 150 4.5? If so, it might not fit.

I think he meant 150mm 5.6 Caltar ll-E and 90mm Sinar 4.5.

An extensive lens compatibility table can be found here

http://www.komamura.co.jp/e/lens_list.html

but, since the lenses you're asking about aren't on it, evaluate them against the criteria given in the answer to Q3 here

http://www.komamura.co.jp/e/faq_tc.html.

I think he meant 150mm 5.6 Caltar ll-E and 90mm Sinar 4.5.

In that case the 90 won't fit through the front hole. The widest aperture 90 that fits is the Horseman Topcor 90mm 5.6. Also the same as the Caltar HR 90mm 5.6.

The OP asked whether the camera will close. Maybe with the Caltar II-E lenses, definitely not with the 90mm Sinar.

The OP asked whether the camera will close. Maybe with the Caltar II-E lenses, definitely not with the 90mm Sinar.I took the inquiry to be two questions, i.e. will they fit and will it close.

To the first question, I've no idea which lens the Sinar is, so the OP will need to research whether it's even compatible with the front standard. Rear cell diameter will make that determination. Even if it can fit through the front standard's opening, closing the FA with it in place won't be possible.

If the 150 is indeed an f/6.3 Caltar II-E, it has a 40.5mm front thread, is mounted in a Copal 0 shutter, is compatible with the FA and the FA will close with it in place. See specifications here:

The 210mm f/6.8 Caltar II-E is mounted in a Copal 1 shutter and has a 49mm front thread. Using a special slightly extended Copal 1 Horseman lensboard, it is compatible with the FA. The FA will not close with it in place. See specifications here:

...that link only takes me to pages in Japanese ??I'm not sure why. The "/e/" portion of each url seems to indicate an English version of the pages. When I click on them they go directly to English files. Perhaps Oren can use his Japanese language skills to explore this for you. :)

Sal, when you first posted your info it was in English. I know because I read it. Now it's in Japanese and I don't know why.

So, I refreshed the pages, wondering if they were just in my computer's cache. Yup, they're Japanese "not found" pages now. Perhaps Komamura is having problems or took those pages down. Oren -- help! :)

...Perhaps Komamura is having problems or took those pages down...Regardless of the reason those pages are gone, I just saved local copies of them via the Wayback Machine. Here are links:

Just took a peek. There are press releases in Japanese announcing that as of Dec 20, Kenko Professional Imaging has taken over Komamura's photographic and broadcast equipment businesses.

Here is the site under the KPI name:

http://www.kenko-pi.co.jp/

Unfortunately, rummaging around the KPI site, it appears as though two things have happened: some of the coverage of legacy products has been deleted, and the English site has also been deleted. FWIW, I can't find even a Japanese version of the lens compatibility table now. There is a brief statement to the effect that the website is in transition, but no indication that the full content that used to be on the Komamura site will be restored.
