I am having some issues using the Betterscanning holders on an Epson V750 scanning 4x5 black and white negatives. I have followed the instructions from the Betterscanning website to the letter and cannot achieve a scan that is sharper than the factory Epson holders. If the Betterscanning holder is in the flat position (no adjustment) I achieve the sharpest image with that holder, but not as sharp as the Epson 4x5 holder. I also read on their website that Betterscanning makes a version of the film holder that has a lower suspension height than the standard Betterscanning holder. Has anyone had to use a Betterscanning holder that has the lower suspension height on an Epson V750?

Make sure you have selected "Film with Film Holder" under the Document Type option in Epson Scan.
Otherwise, the v750 will use its other lens, set for scanning directly on the scanner bed.

If you already know that, then I can tell you that it took a while before I found a height that was noticeably sharper, and it seems to be around 3-4mm high.

As per Ari, several users report a "G-Spot" higher than the Epson max of 3.5mm, 3.75mm in my case.

And Doug at BetterScanning can send you longer screws for the extra height if you need them.

Good to know, because I suspect mine is higher than the current screws can accommodate. Thank you!

Funny thing is.. for mine it turned out to be exactly height of two pennies taped with skotch :) Just sayin... (i had to use those on 700 to use with 8x10 ANR glass.. there is no holder, unfortunately)
