Where To Get 4x5 E-6 Developed

It seems as if the last lab in Western North Carolina that I could count on for developing film is done processing E-6. Last time I dropped of film it took six weeks to get it back. Today, they explained "the machine was broken" and not only would not accept the film, but told me not to plan on getting a call when the equipment was repaired.

Short of getting geared up to do my own E-6, is there an alternative?

I'm sure this will be seconded again and again: Praus Productions Inc. (http://4photolab.com/index.html). I have used them for a lot of 4x5 color work (C41 and E6) and I've always been happy with the results.

I've not used Praus, but have heard good things. I use Samy's Camera in Santa Barbara, CA. It's a bit distant for you, but they do great work via mail order.

Huge pro lab... Can do anything you want. They do 35mm, 120/220, and sheet film 4x5 and 8x10, all types.

Normally same- or next-day service, depending on when they receive it.
I drop mine off and pick it up.

I use Denver Digital Imaging, also know as The Slide Printer. They still do two runs daily and their price for 4x5 is $2.25 per sheet, well below anyone I am familiar with. Even via mail, turn around usually has my film back home within one week. Sandy and his staff have been wonderful folks to work with and great communicators.
