View Full Version : Possible to Use Long Roll of Color Paper?
There is available some color paper for the photo lab. They are long rolls of 6" or other sizes. I do not have the machine and just wonder if I can cut it in total dark and use it.
Is it worth the efforts? Thx.
Possible? why wouldn't it be. Worth the effort over just buying 8x10 sheets if you're making 10" wide prints? No.
Those long rolls are cheap since most people can't use them.... :p
In years past I've used B&W paper cut from a 250 ft roll 11" wide. I made a small rig with my roller cutter so I could cut 11x14, 8x11, 7x11 and 5x11 sizes. The only real problem I had was the curl of the paper especially as I got to the center of the roll. I wound up using most of the roll for contact sheets 8x11, I cut about 100 sheets and put then curl to curl in lots of 25 in a paper box and then put some weight on top of the box in a deep freezer. After about 6 months the curl was almost gone.
I checked another site and some folks are smart enough to use roll papers, even color papers. I'll give it a try. There should not be any problem with BW roll papers.
