Hi All

My question is ,,,well is the Hensel Porty 1200/1200EH worth buying new batteries for?

I have had this barely used Hensel Porty 1200/1200EH set w/ charger and head attachments but I have never used it because I just never get around to buying new batteries. The batteries will run around $90 each plus shipping and tax so let's say $100 each. If I'm going to order one I will order at least one extra and maybe two extra so this can get pricey if the Porty is Potty/:D

Any experience shared whether positive or negative will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Hensel are a quality regional maker and very well represented hereabouts - I'd always go with them. But YMMV elsewhere in the world or even within Germany - they are in the group of maybe a dozen top studio flash makers, but whether their products are a wise choice for you will depend on how well supported they are at/near your place. Even the best flash is a burden/a professional risk if you can't rent any extension to your kit locally...

I worked with a photographer that had a Hensel porty kit. Just one pack I think 2 batteries, one head, and a ring flash. We didnt use it that often, but when we did it was really handy. The battery did seem to drain faster than the ProPhoto 7b's we sometimes rented, but this is just an anecdotal comparison. If you already have the gear, getting some batteries seems like a good idea.

I've used the Portys with a few photographer's I've assisted. They're great units, and in my opinion definitely worth buying new batteries for, especially considering that you already have it.

Thanks guys

That was what I was looking for! A little encouragement helped me to place an order for three new batteries.

Depends on your expectation, basically, and what you plan to use it for.
