My sweetie absconded with my second monitor so I need to buy a new one. The one I am using right now is a Samsung SyncMaster P2270 and it's "ok". It calibrates up nice enough. I really don't have room for anything much bigger than a second 22" or 23" monitor.

Any suggestions based on experience.

i bought a used 23 Apple Cinema Display for 200.. It tuned well .. i had to buy a new color card to take avantage of the 1920 x 1200 display resolution.... most PC monitors are 1600 1050.... A used Power Mac was cheaper than the display card for the PC ... soooo i went mac and have not turned back... Faster, scans at higher resolution, Photoshop is faster, no virus problems, no lockups or problems ,and great quality for a used computer that is 7 years old.... anyway i liked the higher resolution of the mac monitor

I like my NEC P221W.

Me too, but mine cost something like $500 with the calibration software.

I bought it without the calibrator for something in the $300s... close?

they're up to $400 now frank but I think it's still worth it.

Another vote for the P221W. It's an excellent value.

I'll also put in a plug for the SpectraView calibration software and the NEC-branded iOne colorimeter for use with certain NEC wide-gamut displays.

I think Dell has a 23 inch IPS monitor for $169 in their refurb store. Good deal and sometimes they run specials, like free shipping.
